About Us
The Riga Project Choir (RPK) was founded in 2018 by American choral conductor Christopher Walsh Sinka, who moved to Latvia in 2015 to take part in the traditions and high level of Latvia's choral culture. The choir's efforts are centered around a mission to introduce both singers and audience members to new and lesser-known choral repertoire, presenting three unique concert programs each year. The choir is comprised of former members of Latvia's top amateur choirs, who now work primarily in other fields. From 2020 to 2022, the Riga Project Choir was choir-in-residence at the National Library of Latvia. |

What's Next
RIGA PROJECT CHOIR CONCERT "VAJADZĒTU"
The Riga Project Choir's new program "VAJADZĒTU" will offer listeners in Riga and Mazsalaca the opportunity to hear one of the rarely performed masterpieces of Latvian choral music - Pēteris Plakidis choral symphony "Nolemtība", composed in 1985. In the first week of Advent, the concert program "Should" will offer listeners to think about how to maintain hope and optimism in a cynical reality. In addition to the Plakidis choir's symphony "Nolemtība", the choir will perform a cappella compositions by Ēriks Ešenvalds, Pēteris Vasks, and Lauma Kazaka. |
