Echoes of Bach
The Riga Project Choir's first performance featured a return to the roots of classical music. In "Echoes of Bach", the choir performed a collection of works inspired by the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.

“One of the Riga Project Choir's goals is to introduce listeners to new or lesser-known choral music. However, we can only do that with a firm understanding of classical music's most important figures. Bach was responsible not only for a collection of masterful choral works, but also elements of harmony, style and structure that continue to inspire composers today."

The program's central work was Josef Rheinberger's Mass in E-flat Major for Double Choir, as well as Johannes Brahms' motet, Warum ist das licht gegeben. The performances also featured motets from Felix Mendelssohn and Anton Bruckner, as well as lesser known pieces from the Norwegian composer Knut Nystedt and the Austrian Romantic Heinrich von Herzogenberg.
