SULA: Kammernaiskoor Sireen & Riia Projektkoor

At the "SULA" (THAW) concert, the women’s chamber choir Sireen (Estonia, conductor Laura Štoma) and the Riga Project Choir (Latvia, conductor Kristofers Volšs Sinka) built a musical bridge between two neighboring countries.
The concept behind this collaborative concert was based on an exchange of repertoire: the Estonian choir performed music by Latvian composers, while the Latvian choir sang works by Estonian composers.
A unique musical ritual unfolded on stage, with the choirs placing their trust in the language, sound, and mindset of the other country as they sought a shared breath and sonic intimacy.
The *SULA* concert featured choral gems by composers such as Rihards Dubra, Pēteris Vasks, Laura Jēkabsone, Ella Macens, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Evelin Seppar, Taivo Tulev, Arvo Pärt, and Veljo Tormis.

The Riga Project Choir is supported by the Riga City Municipality. Since the autumn of 2023, the Riga Project Choir has been collaborating with the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music High School.
